General Data Protection Regulation

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the foundation of data protection law in Europe (since 25 May 2018).

Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC - General Data Protection Regulation

National data Protection Law

The Ausrian data protection act (Datenschutzgesetz, short DSG) supplements the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Datenschutzgesetz was extensively modified. Older versions are no longer useful. The title of the older version of the law was “Datenschutzgesetz 2000” (DSG 2000).
